Microneedling
Microneedling is an effective treatment to lift, tighten and rejuvenate the skin. By creating controlled damage to the dermis layer of the skin (collagen induction therapy), fibroblasts produce new collagen. Microneedling is an innovative process that can be used on both the face and body, resulting in plumper, more radiant skin and reducing the appearance of scars, wrinkles and fine lines.
How Microneedling Works
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that utilizes a device containing tiny needles that puncture the skin, creating tiny wounds. This action triggers the body’s natural healing process, causing it to produce growth factors, collagen and elastin, which are important building blocks for young, healthy-looking skin. The microchannels it creates also allow serums and products to reach to penetrate the skin and produce even better results.
There are various systems that can be used to deliver microneedling including the Collagen P.I.N. The Collagen P.I.N. is a pen-shaped device that uses multiple needles to vertically pierce the skin and stimulate natural collagen production. It has 36-needles to provide the most effective treatment and multiple needle head options including 12pin & 36pin to allow for customization of needle depth and number. We use sterile single-use surgical grade disposable needle tips to ensure that Collagen P.I.N. delivers efficient results with the highest level of safety.
What it Treats
Microneedling treats skin issues on the face and body including texture, firmness, scars, stretch marks, fine lines and wrinkles.
Microneedling Process
Prior to your treatment, you will be pretreated with a topical numbing agent. Most people feel almost nothing after the numbing agent is applied.
We will apply a topical serum to your clean skin glide the Collagen P.I.N. smoothly across your skin’s surface while creating thousands of micro-channels every second. The quick penetration of the needles creates a more comfortable experience for patients than other devices. Most patients describe the feeling as a vibrating tickle.
After your treatment, your provider will recommend skin care products to use after your procedure based on your individual skin type to enhance your results and shorten recovery. Alastin Skincare’s Regenerating Skin Nectar helps the skin, before, during and after cosmetic procedures by supporting the skin’s natural regeneration process. It can be applied immediately post-procedure for faster recovery and healthier-looking skin. Our highly-trained staff can recommend an after-care regimen specifically for you and your skin’s needs.
For at least four days after your treatment, we recommend using only a mineral-based foundation to avoid any bacteria build-up.
The Results
Because microneedling is a minimally-invasive procedure, so recovery time is minimal. At most, you may experience minor redness, irritation and flakiness for a few days after the procedure as the skin heals and reveals a new layer of rejuvenated skin.
The skin will be plumper and more radiant within a week or two of treatment. There will also be a significant reduction in the appearance of scars, stretchmarks, fine lines and wrinkles.
Add Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
Microneedling results can also be enhanced by adding your body’s own platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to the treatment to further the regenerative effects. PRP is plasma full of growth factors, which means it uses your body’s natural healing properties to improve the healing after microneedling, decrease the duration of redness and swelling and boost the effects to help you achieve your desired results faster.
