Botox® Cosmetic

Botox Cosmetic is a safe, purified protein that relaxes overactive muscles when applied in low doses. A reduction in expression lines can be achieved with a ten-minute treatment consisting of a few tiny injections. Discomfort is minimal or non-existent, and there is no downtime.

How it works?

Botox interrupts the normal transmission of signals between the nerves and the muscles, preventing the contraction of the muscles. The effects are cumulative, as botox diverts the muscles from their habitual, excessive wrinkle-inducing movements. This gives them a chance to relax, causing existing lines to soften, and preventing new lines from developing.

What does it treat?

Botox diminishes dynamic expression lines and works particularly well on frown lines between the brows, crow’s feet around the eyes, and also on lines across the forehead.

The Results

The results with botox become visible within two to seven days, but full effects can take up to 1 month. Botox lasts for about 4 months on average; therefore follow-up treatments are required in order to maintain the results.
