Hyperhidrosis
Hyperhidrosis is defined as sweating beyond what is necessary or reasonable. It can be both localized (armpits, palms, and face), as well as generalized. It is important to see a doctor for excessive sweating if it disrupts your daily routine, begins to occur for no apparent reason or if it causes emotional distress or social withdrawal.
Understanding Hyperhidrosis
Excessive sweating can be emotionally and physically challenging for patients. Many cases are primary, with no explainable cause other than how we are naturally wired. Other patients have sweating secondary to an underlying health condition such as fever, thyroid issue, menopause, neoplastic, neurologic and drug-related.
